I was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, more specifically I grew up in Irmo.
I am lucky to still be surrounded by my family- all living in Columbia and the surrounding areas.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012 and from Coastal Carolina University with my Masters Degree in Language, Literacy, and Culture in 2020. I have taught in Richland Two for nine years, I helped open CFKN back in 2013, this will be my third year in second grade!
I absolutely love our school (the students, my coworkers, the families, our curriculum, our location, and I could go on…). We are a small school with a HUGE heart and impact. I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Center For Knowledge North family!
When I am not in school I love to spend time with my family and friends. I like to enjoy the many things Columbia has to offer. Some examples, I enjoy supporting the South Carolina Gamecocks (football, basketball and baseball are a few of my favorites to watch), I love live music (there are many venues in and around Columbia), I love Columbia's range of restaurants, in a quick car trip I can go to the beach OR mountains with friends and family (I tend to do this often).
There are times when I like to down right relax, one of my favorite ways to spend my alone time is reading! I enjoy many genres but my favorite seems to be historical fiction. If you're ever in search for a good book to read, please ask me! I'd be happy to share my list of favorites. :)
